Upload and activate the parent and child theme.
In this tutorial I will show you how to install Escritora.
Escritora comes as a single zip file containing two themes: the parent theme (Escritora) and the child theme (Escritora Child). You install both, and activate the child.
1. In WordPress, go to Appearance > Themes and click Add New, then Upload Theme.
2. Choose the Escritora zip file and click Install Now. WordPress installs both themes from the one file.
3. Activate Escritora Child. Always keep the child theme active: it is the safe place for any custom changes, and parent theme updates will never overwrite them.
4. Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes once. This step registers the book and excerpt web addresses. It changes nothing else.
Your theme is now active. The front page will show sample content until you add your own, so it looks complete from the very first minute.
