Update Escritora safely without losing your work.
Finally, here I will show you how to update the theme.
When a new version of Escritora is available, you update the parent theme. Because you keep the child theme active, your settings and any custom changes are safe.
1. Back up your website first, or ask your host to.
2. Go to Appearance > Themes and delete the old Escritora parent theme. Your child theme stays active and your content is untouched; deleting the parent removes only its files, not your books, excerpts, reviews or settings.
3. Click Add New > Upload Theme and upload the new Escritora zip.
4. Check that the version number under the Escritora theme has changed.
5. Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes once.
6. If you use a caching plugin or your host caches pages, clear the cache so you see the new version.
Your books, excerpts, reviews and settings all remain in place. Only the theme’s own files are replaced.
