Add your logo and a hero background image.
In this tutorial I will show you how to add your logo.
1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Site Identity.
2. Under Logo, click Select logo, upload your image and publish. Your logo appears in the header beside or instead of your site title.
A hero background image is optional. Under Appearance > Customize > Header Image, you can add a photograph that sits behind your front page hero, with a soft veil so your text stays readable. The navigation bar stays clean above it. If you add no image, the hero shows your warm background colour, which is a strong, calm look in its own right.
For a text-led literary brand, the plain hero is often the more elegant choice. For a photography-led brand, the image adds warmth. The choice is yours.
