Update the theme without losing your work.
Finally, here I will show you how to update the theme safely.
You update the parent theme; the child keeps your settings and recipes safe. Recipes are posts, so they always remain in your site regardless of theme.
1. Back up your site first.
2. Go to Appearance > Themes and delete the old Luanda Food parent. Your child stays active and your posts, recipes and pages are untouched.
3. Click Add New > Upload Theme and upload the new zip.
4. Check the version number under the Luanda Food theme has changed.
5. Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes once.
6. Clear any caching plugin or host cache.
