Create a book with its cover, blurb and details.
This is the heart of the theme. Here I will show you how to add a book.
- Go to Books > Add New.
- Enter the title of your book.
- In the Excerpt field, write a short blurb of one or two sentences. This is the short text shown on the book cards.
- In the main editor, write the full description of the book.
- Set the cover as the Featured image. Covers look best at a 2:3 shape (for example 720 by 1080 pixels).
- In the Book details and where to buy it box, add the Series, the year under Published, the Formats and, if you sell directly, an optional Price note. These are shown above the description on the book’s page.
- Choose one or more Genres in the sidebar, or add new ones.
- Publish.
Repeat for each book. A book without a cover shows a plain cover with its title. You can control how many books show on the front page under Customize > Novelisto Homepage, and set the order with Order under Page Attributes: lower numbers come first.
