Upload and activate the parent and child theme.
In this tutorial I will show you how to install Novelisto.
Novelisto comes as two zip files: the parent theme (Novelisto) and the child theme (Novelisto Child). You install both, and activate the child.
In WordPress, go to Appearance > Themes and click Add New, then Upload Theme.
Choose the novelisto.zip file and click Install Now.
Upload novelisto-child.zip the same way.
Activate Novelisto Child. Always keep the child theme active: it is the safe place for any custom changes, and parent theme updates will never overwrite them.
Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes once. This step registers the book, excerpt and event web addresses. It changes nothing else.
Your theme is now active. The front page will show sample books until you add your own, so it looks complete from the very first minute.
