Update Novelisto safely without losing your work.
Finally, here I will show you how to update the theme.
When a new version of Novelisto is available, you update the parent theme. Because you keep the child theme active, your settings and any custom changes are safe.
- Back up your website first, or ask your host to.
- Go to Appearance > Themes, click Add New, then Upload Theme, and upload the new novelisto.zip.
- When WordPress shows that the theme is already installed, click Replace current with uploaded.
- Check that the version number under the Novelisto theme has changed.
- Go to Settings > Permalinks and click Save Changes once.
- If you use a caching plugin or your host caches pages, clear the cache so you see the new version.
Your books, excerpts, events, reviews and settings all remain in place. Only the theme’s own files are replaced.
